Attend Palmetto Opera events —sponsors need to see interest if they are to continue their support. 2. Volunteer your time —there are many ways to help and volunteering is a great way to join the opera community. 3. Contribute funds —fewer and fewer corporations give to specifc arts organizations.We need initial financing to come from opera lovers to show corporations the importance of contributing to our art form. 4. Sponsor artists,events,competitions, etc.— besides contributing to the arts, you ’ll also earn recognition and free publicity for doing so. 5. Serve as an advisor or board of directors member — contribute your business experience,skill,and contacts to your opera. Why should you help? 1. Introduce, produce and expand professional opera in South Carolina — be part of the arts in your community. 2. Educate young and old on the wonder of opera and keep its culture alive. 3. Wherever the arts flourish, so does business. Communities that offer opportunities in the arts attract new industry and new residents due to their appeal. A strong economy elevates standards for everyone in the community. 4. You, friends and family can experience the wonderful talent we have in South Carolina through a professional opera without leaving town. 5.
